SPRAY FOAM RIG REPAIR

Proportioner Repair

Off-Ratio, Pressure & Temperature Repair for Your Proportioner

A proportioner that won’t hold ratio, pressure, or temperature shuts your whole rig down. We diagnose and repair Graco Reactor, PMC, and Gusmer units — pumps, heaters, and pressure systems — so you’re back to spraying in-spec foam, not guessing at drum chemistry.

What’s Included

Full-System Proportioner Diagnostics & Repair

The proportioner is the heart of the rig — it holds the A/B chemical ratio, pressure, and temperature that determine whether your foam sets up right. We work the whole system, not just the part that failed last time.

Off-Ratio Diagnostics

A proportioner's entire job is holding a precise A/B chemical ratio at a stable pressure and temperature. When foam comes out brittle, shrinking, off-color, or won't cure, we trace it back through pump output, transducer readings, and heater performance instead of guessing at parts.

Pump Repair & Rebuild

Piston and packing wear, cavitation, and check-valve failure all show up as pressure imbalance between the A and B sides. We tear down, inspect, and rebuild displacement pumps to spec rather than swap parts on a hunch.

Pressure System Troubleshooting

Pressure fluctuation at the gun almost always starts upstream — a proportioner that can't hold steady pressure will throw off ratio even if the pump itself is mechanically sound. We check transducers, relief valves, and the whole pressure control loop.

Heater & Temperature Control Repair

Chemical viscosity is temperature-dependent — a proportioner that won't hold its set temperature (or drifts under load) will spray off-ratio even with a perfectly good pump. We service primary heaters, temperature control boards, and RTD sensors.

Graco, PMC & Gusmer Service

[Certified on Graco Reactor E-series and H-series, PMC PH-series, and Gusmer proportioning units]. Multi-brand capability matters because most contractors' fleets aren't single-brand — we don't turn away a job because it's not the one brand we know.

Ratio Recalibration & Verification

After repair, we verify ratio under real spray conditions — not just a bench test — before the rig goes back to work, including a pattern and shot-test check to confirm the fix holds under load.

Who Needs This

Signs Your Proportioner Needs a Technician

If any of this sounds familiar, don’t chase it drum by drum — get the machine checked.

  • Foam coming out off-ratio — brittle, shrinking, tacky, or discolored — and you've already ruled out the chemical drums.
  • Pressure fluctuating at the gun even though the machine seems to be running normally.
  • A proportioner that won't hold its set temperature, or drifts once it's under continuous spray load.
  • A Graco Reactor, PMC PH-series, or Gusmer unit that's throwing fault codes, alarming out, or shutting down mid-job.

Common Questions

Proportioner Repair FAQ

What actually causes off-ratio spraying?

Off-ratio foam almost always traces back to one of three systems: the pump (wear, cavitation, a failing check valve), the heaters (a proportioner that can't hold the correct chemical temperature will spray off-ratio even with a healthy pump), or the pressure control loop (a bad transducer or relief valve lets A and B pressures drift apart). We diagnose by checking all three, not just replacing the most obvious part.

Do you work on Graco, PMC, and Gusmer proportioners?

Yes — we service all three major proportioner brands, [Certified on Graco Reactor E-series and H-series, PMC PH-series, and Gusmer units]. Most contractor fleets mix brands over the years, so we built the shop around multi-brand capability instead of specializing in just one.

How long does a proportioner repair take?

It depends on the failure — a heater or sensor swap can turn around fast, while a full pump rebuild takes longer. We give you a real diagnosis and turnaround estimate before work starts, generally in the range of [24-48 Hour Turnaround] once the unit is in hand, faster for on-site fixes that don't require a full teardown.

Should I ship my proportioner in or have a technician come to me?

Both are options. Some proportioner issues — a bad transducer, a heater element, a control board — are fast to diagnose and fix on-site with a mobile visit, which keeps your rig out of a shipping crate. Deeper pump rebuilds or full electrical troubleshooting are often faster in the shop with a full bench setup. Tell us the symptoms and we'll recommend the path that gets you back spraying fastest.

Can a bad hose or heated hose cause proportioner-like symptoms?

Yes, and it's a common misdiagnosis. If the hose isn't maintaining chemical temperature along its full run, the material can be perfectly in-ratio at the proportioner and still hit the gun off-ratio or off-viscosity. If we test the proportioner clean, we'll check the hose and heater system next rather than send you home with a machine that still won't spray right.
